Being stupidly difficult is fun. Forcing trial and error isn't. There's a big difference, and despite having charm, this game falls majorly flat when it comes to actual gameplay.

The art and music in this game is very nice, and it all shows potential, but the girls, (and Xam) all feel very flat. Their responses are nearly uniform and do not change much, (alright, hm... you should buy me stuff) and often times they will respond in a negative way for little to no reason other than "that was arbitrarily the wrong answer". This really breaks immersion, and made me care a lot less than I should have about who I was with. Lastly, the ending seemed.. lacking. Nothing special really happens. If those problems could be patched up, or if you're willing to ignore them, then it's a decent, quick sim.

I came in expecting only to grab some medals and leave, but since then I have replayed this game numerous times. The characters are quirky and the conversations are a ton of fun to play around with. Add in some nice music and a great sense of humor, and this game looks pretty darn nice, especially for something made so quickly. My only issue is that, as has been pointed out, it is a bit too short.

Awesome review <3! Hopefully I could be able to make a longer version some day :)

Cool game, broken aesop

A pacifist doesn't fight, but that doesn't really mean that a violent game makes the creators immoral monsters, since violence in games isn't real. Nobody actually gets harmed in them, so the fact that this pacifist has to make moral choices based on his beliefs doesn't really work in this kind of setting. The real message should be that people need to just realize that some video games are entertainment and don't need to be taken seriously. While the whole visual novel style and the way things change based on your choices are cool, the way the idea is implemented is flawed so it renders me apathetic about the choices, which is bad in a game that is played completely by making choices.

I actually liked this.

I thought that the writing was funny and the actually game play was cool, if a bit buggy. I mean, sure, the story made very little sense, and yes, from a technical standpoint the fights were crappy, but who really cares? I mean, when you're playing a point-and-click game where the first item is literally crap and the first fight is a pillow fight, do you really need an overly complex plot or amazingly well planned out fights that leave the player in awe? I think not. The game aimed to be funny, and it largely succeeded. I chuckled at many of the jokes, and only a few lines missed me. I took off one point because the game was too short, and one point for some hit detection issues. I only took off one point for said issues because the battles were generally amusing (and easy) enough where they didn't really matter all that much. Overall this game was enjoyable, if a bit brief.

Clever

I expected to hate this. The presentation was dull and it looked low quality. Even the arrows on some of the blocks weren't "drawn" very well. That said, I actually got into it. I was surprised at how drawn in I was once I started playing, and some of the level designs were actually quite interesting as well as a good medium level of challenging. While even a loose story and a password save feature would be nice, I can't say that the game isn't cool as it is.

The misaligned arrows on the platforms had a purpose; they showed the initial direction of the platform. But I understand that the presentation was dull. We're working harder to get some better graphics. Thanks for the review!

Horribly Addicting!

Wow, I just spent a good half hour playing this without even realizing it! This game is just... really addicting. Like, say goodbye to your family because you won't be seeing them for some time addicting. The concept is simple and fun. You fly around and shoot stuff while upgrading your ship in order to earn trophies, fill your bestiary and earn medals. Controls are easy and tight. Enemy types are introduced gradually and get slightly harder each time so you really have to think about what you want to upgrade. There is a story here too, something about a resistance, but who really cares? The fun here is in the simple, addicting gameplay, not the story.

Hilarious! Too short.

Everything about this game was funny, and yes, it was way too short, but that was kind of the point. Maybe next time though you could make a full version of the game with more stuff to do, because this was definitely entertaining, but it only took me about a minute to get all the apostles. I need something that can hold my attention longer. That said, this is a great little time waster.

Incredibly cute

I love the character, I love the concept. Easy Joe is just cute looking, and the gameplay is simple, yet just puzzling enough to work. The world you explore is interesting and I kept wanting to find out what was next. I only wish that it was a bit longer, because it did go pretty fast. Great job though, this is easily the best game I've played in a few weeks.

Meh.

It's just the exact same thing over and over again. There are a couple of funny moments, but most of it is just blah. Next time, spice it up a bit with more varied gameplay, powerups and maybe even a battle system, because as of now, this is a really boring game, especially with 1 hit kills that make you start all over again.

I like Mayonnaise a lot. And submitting art to Newgrounds. But mostly mayonnaise.
